James Bond in bed with KGB’s agent? End of his career!

Do you remember the movie The Spy Who Loved Me in which James Bond was directly working with KGB officer Anya Amasova. She wanted to kill him but they jumped into bed at the end.  In the reality it would be almost for sure very bad for his career and the Western and Eastern intelligence agencies cooperated rarely in the time of Cold War.

Was the division of Europe after WW II inevitable?

Czechoslovakia in 1968: It wasn’t the priority of President Johnson

But it would be probably impossible to stop the invasion of Warsaw Pact troops as Leonid Brezhnev was at that time more frightened from Prague Spring that from any complaints from Washington. The declassified documents of CIA relating to Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia show President Lyndon Johnson was warned that military action could happen.
