Ksenia Sobchak may or may not be leaving Russia after reports of being on so-called hit list. But what is your view on the existence of this hit list of dissidents? Could it be real or it sounds more like a fantasy?

I do not believe that we should believe the Nemtsov murder marks the start of any wider campaign against critics of the government. There have always been lists of “traitors” circulating among the more toxic and extreme nationalist groups. Instead, I think this says more about the panicked mood within Muscovite liberal circles.
A hit list sounds all too likely. After 15 years of “stability ” nobody is safe in Russia — not even Putin.
